Walter Barker

Walter Barker (1921–2004) was an American painter born in Coblenz, Germany. He grew up in Webster Groves, near St. Louis, Missouri. Barker received a BFA degree from Washington University in 1948 and later taught at the University of North Carolina Greensboro Department of Art from 1966 until his retirement in 1992.

His artwork features geometric abstract painting with notable examples including 'Life Class' (1990) and an oil on linen canvas signed and dated 1956.
