Biography

Oscar Anderson (1873–1953) was an American painter and photographer. Born in Gotland, Sweden, he emigrated to the United States around 1900 and settled in Connecticut. He studied art with Charles Noel Flagg in Hartford, a prominent portraitist who had studied in Paris under Jacquesson de la Chevreuse, a pupil of Ingres.

Anderson's work includes coastal and other landscape paintings, often signed with his artist signature.
