Biography
Louis Mayer (1869–1969) was an American painter and sculptor. Born on November 26, 1869, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to German immigrant parents, he was the youngest of seven children. Mayer studied at the Wisconsin Art Institute before traveling to Europe to attend various art schools, including the Weimar Art School, the Munich Academy of Fine Arts, and the Académie Julian in Paris.
His work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from $90 USD to $13,420 USD.
