Biography

George Alexander Picken (1898–1971) was an American painter. Born in New York City, he was the son of William Picken and Florence Hopkins. He studied at the Art Students' League in New York as well as in Paris, France. His paintings and prints are represented at various museums including the Whitney Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Corcoran Gallery in Washington, D.C., and the Kansas City Art Institute.
