Raymond Breinin

Raymond Breinin (1909–2000) was an American painter, sculptor, designer, craftsman, and teacher. Born in Vitebsk, Russia on November 30, 1909, he studied art under Uri Penn at the Vitebsk Academy of Art. His family immigrated to the United States in 1922, settling in Chicago, where Breinin continued his art studies.

He worked various jobs to support his family during the Depression and painted murals during this time.
