Robert Farrington Elwell (1874–1962) was an American painter known for his work in the Cowboy genre. He was born on August 24, 1874, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Albion Elwell and Alice Farrington. His father was a stone mason. Elwell's illustrations were extremely popular at the beginning of the 20th century.
His artwork has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from $50 USD to $25,000 USD.
